Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Typically held during the last week of September, it highlights the value of free and open access to information.
This free, educational event will include a short lecture/discussion time and allow students the opportunity to read passages from banned books they find meaningful. English faculty will be on hand to lead commentary to why books were considered controversial and provide context.
