Dorrance Dance

Founded by the 2015 MacArthur Fellow, Michelle Dorrance, this company won a Bessie Award for their first performance. While upholding traditional tap forms, the ensemble pushes rhythmic, technical and conceptional boundaries. A live band electrifies these fabulous dancers.

At East Carolina University, the company will perform a new work, Myelination, with National Dance Project support. They've blasted open our notions of tap with performances at packed houses including Jacob's Pillow, the Joyce Theatre, the Kennedy Center, Spoleto Festival, and many more.

Watch Michelle Dorrance solo on the CBS "Late Show."
