Guardianship has become a hot topic in popular culture, especially with the publicity surrounding the guardianship (a.k.a. conservatorship) of singer Britney Spears. This course will discuss the legal rules that govern guardianships in North Carolina, including fiduciary responsibilities, appointment of guardians, types of guardianships, Court and financial oversight, and most importantly, how to avoid guardianship altogether, especially as we age. The class is designed to be informative but interactive, with questions and discussion encouraged.
