So You Want to Talk About Race? Facilitating Racial Dialogues in Class. Using Oluo’s book of the same title we will explore our own perspectives on talking about race and how from there to engage in productive conversations within the classroom environment. It is strongly recommended that participants pick up this text. In this session, we will discuss student resistance and how to maintain a healthy learning environment for all students.

Great workshop providing steps to manage conversations around race and racism both in and out of the classroom, learning to lean in to difficult conversations, learning to know when to walk away from conversations, how to sit with being uncomfortable, and the importance of valuing the perspectives of others.

We were provided with some good resources. Dr. Chambers led a good discussion.
