Mursion Orientation/Facilitator Training

Mursion provides an immersive experience in a safe space preparing ECU students for the real world by providing an opportunity for repeat practice and immediate feedback. This session will let you experience Mursion and show you what you need to know to incorporate it with your students.

  • Available for educator preparation, sales and leadership, counseling and psychiatry, human resources, hospitality, medical office and doctor and nurse preparation
  • Educator preparation programs that have used Mursion include Special Education, Elementary and Middle Grades Education, Art, and Masters in School Administration.

Current objectives of the Mursion@ECU team:

  • Align educator development & faculty/program research goals and expand opportunities
  • Increase overall lab usage
  • Collaborate with faculty to expand Mursion research

Recent enhancements:

  • Dedicated state of the art lab
  • Purchase of a site license making it easier and more convenient for faculty to use

At this session you will:

  • Meet all of the avatars available to use in Mursion including
    • the classroom, George and Stacy (office setting),
    • George, Cathy and Meredith (customer service setting)
    • Cathy (Virtual medical examination room)
    • Preview of the new Middle School and Upper Elementary Classrooms
    • Preview of new adults - Linda, Max, and Bennett
  • Observe a live Mursion session
  • Learn how to interact with the avatars when conducting a session with your class
  • Learn how to schedule Mursion sessions
  • Learn about available scenarios and how to create new scenarios
  • Have the opportunity to be enrolled in the Mursion Repository to find out more about scenarios and past sessions
  • Ask questions about Mursion and how to incorporate it into your curriculum
