With everyone using the internet to engage in social media, adjust the home thermostat or shop for the latest connected home device, it is vital to make certain that the entire household ‒ including children – learn to use the internet safely and responsibly.
The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) Computer Crimes Unit helps law enforcement across North Carolina solve sophisticated crimes involving digital evidence. Agents combine technological expertise with investigative experience to catch child predators and others who use digital means to exploit their victims. On October 11th Assistant Special Agent in Charge Kevin Roughton of the SBI will be giving a presentation on the mission of the NC SBI Computer Crimes Unit and steps you can take to stay safe while online.
