About this Event
View mapOn Tuesday, March 12th, there will be a reception and talk by Laurie Stewart, Director of Open Door Shelter about the library's exhibit in the RIS hallway. Notice the Water is a photography exhibit that sheds light on homelessness. The photos in the exhibit were taken by individuals in Beaufort County, NC who are currently homeless for a study called Photovoice.
Participants took photos of everyday scenes, items that are significant to them, as well as anything that represented their community. They shared their concerns about local assets, social issues, and the difficulty to access healthcare in hope to raise awareness about the barriers faced by men and women in Beaufort County and bevond.
