Faculty can improve the quality of student writing by designing assignments that build upon student skills as an assignment unfolds (Lindemann). Breaking up a writing assignment into a series of steps or stages can dramatically improve student performance. In this interactive workshop, participants will explore strategies and methods for sequencing activities and scaffolding learning in their writing classrooms.
