Shelton Leadership Challenge @ ECU

The Shelton Leadership Challenge @ ECU is a six-day summer experience to help high school students expand their knowledge of leadership and build their leadership skills.

ECU’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development brings this renowned Leadership Challenge from the Gen. H. Hugh Shelton Leadership Center at NC State University. Shelton’s cornerstones of values-based leadership are integrated throughout the experience. These cornerstones are honesty, integrity, compassion, diversity and social responsibility.

Students also have the opportunity to participate in team building activities, low and high ropes courses, service projects, and fun night activities to help students get to know others participating in the program.

Ultimately, the Shelton Leadership Challenge @ ECU provides hands-on training and activities that assist developing young people in becoming more confident leaders back in their communities.
