Sustainability Film & Discussion Series

The showing of “Plastic Paradise” will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 in the Main Campus Student Center Black Box Theater with public parking available (hourly rates apply) in the parking deck. Plastic Paradise is an independent documentary film that chronicles Angela Sun's journey of discovery to one of the most remote places on Earth, Midway Atoll, to uncover the truth behind the mystery of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Along the way she encounters scientists, industry, legislators and activists who shed light on what our society's vast consumption of disposable plastic is doing to our oceans, and what it may be doing to our health.

Terry Little, ECU Recycling Coordinator, will be present to answer questions that the students and audience members may have and help facilitate the discussion. For more information, please contact Chad Carwein, University Sustainability Manager, at carweinc15@ecu.edu.
