You're a Badass: Overcoming Imposter Phenomenon

You’re a Badass: Overcoming Impostor Phenomenon

Ever feel like a fraud - like you are just "lucky" to be here - like you don’t belong in your field, your school, or your job? These feelings of pervasive self-doubt, despite evidence you are skilled and successful, characterize imposter phenomenon, which is more common in those that identify as women, people of color, or have other marginalized identities.

Using tactics and skills from the book "You’re A Badass" by Jen Sincero, and imposter phenomenon research, this workshop aims to empower participants to understand imposter phenomenon, reduce its impact, and develop a badass personal strategy for tackling imposter phenomenon in their work, school, and personal lives.

This workshop is for graduate students, but because this phenomenon impacts about 70% of the population, all genders are welcome to attend. This event is sponsored by the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences and the Women and Gender Office.
