Eastern North Carolina writer Jim Grimsley will read from his fiction at the Greenville Museum of Art, 802 Evans Street, in a free and public event.
An award-winning novelist and playwright, Grimsley is senior resident fellow in creative writing at Emory University. He will be in Greenville through much of July to research his next novel, set in eastern North Carolina during the Civil Rights era. Grimsley will be introduced by Gary Richards, professor at the University of Mary Washington in Virginia. Richards interviewed Grimsley for the 2009 issue of the North Carolina Literary Review.
