Undergraduates, as part of RCAW 2026 (April 6 – April 10), there is an exciting competition called Capture 180 Research Challenge, which will be held on Thursday, April 9th from 2:00pm-4:30pm. The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) is pleased to host this challenge, now in its 6th year. Capture 180 is a competition for undergraduates modeled after the Graduate School’s Three-Minute Thesis Competition. The objective of the challenge is to describe your work to a lay audience in 2-3 minutes using one static slide or prop. Presenters are judged on comprehension, content, engagement and communication. Capture 180 is not limited to thesis projects and is extended to any ongoing research or creative projects by students at any stage of their studies at ECU (except for those who have recently graduated). More information and challenge rules can be found on the OUR website. The deadline for registering as a participant in the challenge is Sunday, February 15th using the same RCAW Presentation Submission Form for posters and podium talks. Simply select Capture 180 (towards April 9th) for your presentation format separately or in addition to a podium/poster for Monday, April 6th. Only one abstract is needed for any of type of presentation format you choose.
