Coding in Qualitative Research

Coding in Qualitative Research

The Coding in Qualitative Research Workshop is meant for those who are newer to the process of coding qualitative data. The first hour will cover an overview of common types of codes and coding approaches (e.g., inductive, deductive) and attendees will practice coding qualitative data. The second hour will include using codes to develop themes and other topics such as inter-rater reliability. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own qualitative work to practice coding or may use an example transcript provided by the instructor. Recommended resources on coding and qualitative data analysis will be provided.
