This session will provide an overview of approaches for co-developing research ideas and projects with community partners. This session will include a discussion of how to set up successful collaborations with other academic researchers, educators and practitioners, and community partners, and include authorship, roles on grant proposals and avoiding and resolving disputes and conflicts. The first hour will be open to anyone at ECU interested in getting involved in community engaged research (registration through ECU OFE). After the first hour, this virtual session will close to just be available to 2026-2027 EOSA faculty and Cohort 3 and Cohort 4 NRT students.

The closed session of the workshop will provide an overview and discussion of the following for EOSA/NRT projects:
Co-developing a timeline for projects, identifying roles, responsibilities, and expectations, and identifying intended outcomes and products
Co-developing a memorandum of partnership with a community partner
Co-developing a project budget and making plans for future funding
