Continuing Professional Education - Legal Career Training Courses (March)

ECU Continuing Professional Education has partnered with The Center for Legal Studies by Barbri to bring you professional career training in a flexible, instructor-led online format.

The following online courses are available:

  • Intellectual Property Law for Engineers Certificate Course
  • Legal Nurse Consultant Training Course
  • Advanced Legal Research & Writing Certificate Course
  • Employment Law Certificate Course
  • Legal Secretary Certificate Course
  • Software Essentials for the Law Office Course
  • Medical Professional Legal Consultant
  • Personal Injury for Paralegals Course
  • Legal Investigation Certificate Course
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate Course
  • Victim Advocacy Certificate Course

The courses are available for the following traditional format sessions:

  • Session 4: March 6, 2023 - April 21, 2023
  • Session 5: May 1, 2023 - June 16, 2023
  • Session 6: June 26, 2023 - August 11, 2023

Note: Some courses offer a Flex format in which you have 6 months from the time of registration to complete the course at your own pace. If this format is offered, the option will be provided during registration.

North Carolina Certified Economic Developer Program
The ECU Economic Development Academy offers the North Carolina Certified Economic Developer Program for economic development personnel, elected officials, business leader and others interested in the field of economic development.

Offered in partnership with the ECU College of Business, Department of Political Science, and Academic Outreach, Continuing and Distance Education, the program provides practical knowledge concerning the practice of economic development in the State of North Carolina.

Certification requirements include completion of seven (7) courses and a capstone project.

While successfully completing the course of study will lead to the North Carolina Certified Economic Developer designation, selected courses may be taken as desired without formal matriculation in the certification program.
