DESCRIPTION:Effective assignment design plays a crucial role in student suc
 cess\, yet too often\, students are left to decipher expectations with min
 imal guidance. This workshop explores how transparent assignment design ca
 n enhance student engagement\, performance\, and confidence by providing c
 lear expectations and purposeful structure. Participants will learn about 
 the Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TILT) framework\, see how other
  ECU faculty have used it in their writing classrooms\, and consider how i
 t could be applied in their writing instruction. By articulating the purpo
 se\, task\, and criteria for success\, instructors can improve communicati
 on and foster deeper learning.  Join us to explore strategies for designin
 g assignments that clarify expectations while empowering all students to t
 ake ownership of their writing.
