A play by Pulizer Prize winner, Lynn Nottage. Set in 1905 Lower Manhattan, Intimate Apparel tells the story of Esther, a hard-working African-American woman with a dream of opening her own beauty parlor. Her work as a seamstress making intimate garments connects her with various characters. Winner of the 2004 New York Drama Critics Circle and the Outer Crtitics Circle awards. Ages 16 and up for mature language and themes.
