Language is not just a neutral tool for communication. It reflects ways of knowing, interpreting, being, and surviving in the world, which makes writing a dynamic site of identity and ideological negotiation. Grounded in research from sociology, education, and linguistics, Linguistic Justice challenges ideas of Standard AmericanEnglish and how we teach writing. This workshop explores equity-centered pedagogies like Linguistic Justice as inclusive approaches to teaching, writing, and publishing. Presenters will discuss strategies for teaching writing, including emphasis on rhetorical choice and code meshing.
