Come stop by our Well-Being Centers to participate in Progressive Muscle Relaxation

Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) involves tightening and relaxing muscle groups, one at a time, to release tension build up and stress. Typically, you start from your feet and work up towards the forehead. It can help improve sleep quality, decrease migraines, and help control your blood pressure. -Start by either lying down or sitting and relaxing body, take a few breaths in and out.

-Start by pointing your toes towards the sky, bend your feet towards the wall then back towards the sky.

-Then, squeeze your calf muscles, relax, then squeeze your thigh muscles and buttocks and relax.

-Contract your abdominal muscles while breathing in, pause, then breathe out while releasing tension

-Inhale and tighten your chest. Hold, then exhale and release.

-Raise your shoulders to your ears or push them towards the ground, pause, then release.

-Lift your eyebrows up towards your forehead. Hold, then release.
