This 2-day, Continuing Professional Education course  is part of the North Carolina Certified Economic Developer (NCCED) program.  It will introduce participants to various retention strategies, business investment and attraction in North Carolina as well as provide an opportunity to collect information and create a regional scan for your community. During the course, participants will set up goals and objective, select strategies to achieve these goals, determining resources needed to accomplish the goals, and benchmarks to determine when goals are accomplished. Participants will also learn where to gather data and conduct hands-on exercises to introduce some aspects of the course. The course will deepen participant's knowledge of local industries and introduce concepts of industrial clusters, industry vision, and tourism development. 

**Many facets of the course are computer-based so be sure to bring a fully charged laptop.
