This presentation will focus on case studies for six companies using a brominated solvent, n-propyl bromide (nPB), in a variety of industrial vapor degreasing operations. nPB causes cancer and nerve damage and it is a reproductive and developmental toxin. The research involved working with the six facilities to identify, test and demonstrate safer alternatives and the presentation will discuss the feasibility and cost of the conversions to the alternatives.
