Statistics 1: Measurement and Descriptive Statistics

The three steps of (1) visualizing data, (2) summarizing data, and, if there is sufficient structure, (3) modeling data will be presented as a paradigm for describing single variables and for describing the relationship between 2 or more variables. Simpson's paradox will be discussed in relation to the problem of lurking variables.
