In celebration of Black History Month, the ECU Sustainability Program has partnered with the Third Space Research Collective and organizers from different groups in Greenville to host a film screening of "The Smell of Money". We intend to use this program to raise consciousness around the connection between racial capitalism and environmental degradation, while honoring black freedom struggles. We are deeply appreciative of the ongoing work of North Carolina Environmental Justice Network, Black Workers for Justice; and locally, North of the River Association (NOTRA) and Coalition Against Racism (CAR). Following the 85-minute film screening, we will have a panel of speakers moderated by Dr. Aleia Brown, Whichard Distinguished Visiting Associate Professor.
