Consciousness, once a taboo topic of Philosophy and Science, made a comeback a few decades ago under the heading "The Hard Problem" Today, it is touted as the "last remaining mystery of science" and many think it will forever remain that way, unless Physics establishes it as a fundamental and sui generis element of the universe.
